AI Overviews have moved onto the results page for most large brands' own names. Ahrefs tracked Google's US results for the exact names of 100 global brands each week from July through September. On 1 July, five of 98 usable queries returned an AI Overview. By 30 September, 63 of the 100 did.

The jump was concentrated in September. The weekly count sat at 16 before 9 September, then rose to 42 on that date and reached 63 by the end of the month. Ahrefs also logged where each overview sat on the page: 48 of the 63 appeared in what it calls position one, and the average position was 1.49.

Two other counts that week pointed the same way. Chris Long of Nectiv said a SerpApi scrape on 30 September found AI Overviews on 93 of 100 enterprise brand queries, without publishing the list. DemandSphere's daily series put AI Overviews on 26.12% of its branded keywords on 1 September, 90.48% on 27 September and 82.06% on 29 September.

Ahrefs' wider crawl data, covering 92.5 million branded-keyword crawls between July and September, showed AI Overviews on 61.3% of branded keywords in July, 65.1% in August and 73.3% in September. For brand teams, the practical check is to search the company's exact name and read the overview and the pages it cites. Search Console's branded queries filter, opened to all eligible sites in March, shows clicks and impressions for queries Google classifies as branded, though its definition is Google's own.
