Google AI Mode Adds Flight Price Tracking, Miles Rates and Hotel Booking
Google has added three travel features to AI Mode in Search. Users can track flight prices, see the cost of flights and hotels in points or miles, and book hotels without leaving the conversational interface.
Hotel booking is live in the US in English and will reach more users over the coming weeks. Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts are the launch partners. Travellers pick a property from a visual list with guest reviews, then select Continue on Google to pay with Google Pay.
Flight price tracking draws on more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites and is available in over 180 countries and territories. Points and miles rates are live globally for Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group will be added in the coming weeks.
For brands, the update shows AI Mode moving from answering travel questions to completing transactions inside the answer. Hotels, airlines and booking platforms that want to be cited and chosen in that flow now need their rates, availability and rewards data in the partner feeds Google reads.
