Google expands AI Mode ads to ten more countries and adds multiturn ads in the US

Google is widening advertising inside AI Mode, its conversational search experience. Ads are now live in Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore, with Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom due in the fourth quarter.

The company is also launching multiturn ads in the United States. These place sponsored results against follow-up questions, so a brand can appear as a conversation continues rather than only on the first query. A Google spokesperson confirmed the format runs on responses to follow-up queries as users move back and forth with AI Mode.

Google said click-through rates for sponsored and organic product list items within AI Mode are already similar, and that all paid placements stay labelled Sponsored. The company added that it will keep testing new formats.

For brands chasing citations in AI answers, the shift matters: paid placement now sits alongside the organic recommendations that AI Mode gives, and the follow-up queries where buyers refine a choice are becoming ad inventory. Ads launched in AI Mode in May 2025.
