Google Tests Add to Calendar Link in AI Overviews
Google is testing an add to calendar link inside AI Overviews, letting users drop event dates straight into their calendar from the answer. The feature was spotted by Khushal Bherwani and later by Radu Oncescu, both of whom posted screenshots on X.
The test appears unstable. Bherwani said the option disappeared when he refreshed the query, and the same query returned a different AI Overview each time. Google has not confirmed whether the feature is a limited experiment or a wider rollout.
For brands, the change points to a broader pattern: AI answers are becoming a place where users act, not just read. If event dates in an AI Overview can be saved directly, the answer surface is doing work that previously required a click through to a listing or ticketing page.
