ChatGPT Ads adds automated bidding and platform targeting

ChatGPT Ads has introduced a Maximize results bid strategy that lets the platform set and adjust bids automatically against a chosen campaign goal, moving bid decisions away from the advertiser. Advertisers pick the outcome they want and the system works to generate as many results as possible from the available budget.

Campaign setup now includes an Eligible platforms setting, so advertisers can restrict delivery to the iOS app, the Android app or the web, or run across several of them. That matters for advertisers whose conversion rates or customer value differ between mobile apps and the web.

ChatGPT Ads Manager also reports one-day view-through conversions at campaign, ad group and ad level. A view-through is counted when someone converts within a day of seeing an eligible ad without a qualifying click taking credit, so reported conversions may rise beyond those driven by clicks and click-through and view-through performance need to be read separately.

Advertisers can connect ChatGPT Ads to WorkMagic to see ChatGPT campaign performance alongside other channels, and the integration can send conversion signals back to OpenAI through the Conversions API. The changes arrive as the platform expands into Brazil and Mexico.
