Gemini 4 Argon rolls out in Google Search AI Mode with links in answers
Google has made Gemini 4 Argon available inside Search through AI Mode, rolling it out globally to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. The model was announced a couple of weeks ago and is now an option in the Gemini app as well as in Search.
Nick Fox and Robby Stein said on X that Argon is built for harder problems and brings improvements to nuanced, multi-step tasks in AI Mode, with better intent understanding and instruction following across back-and-forth conversations. Google says it delivers frontier performance in complex workflows across software engineering, enterprise knowledge work such as legal and finance, and cybersecurity defence.
For brands tracking AI citations, the notable detail is that AI Mode responses carry links this time, unlike the earlier 3.8 Flash release. That gives marketers a visible surface to monitor and a clearer path from an AI answer to a click.
