Google Merchant Center AI Performance Insights adds AI search metrics
Google has added three new reporting sections to the AI Performance Insights report in Merchant Center. The additions are AI Search intent, AI Search terms and AI attributes, and they follow the report's launch in July and its expansion to more regions earlier this month.
AI Search intent shows how a merchant's products match customer searches made in AI. AI Search terms recommends adding popular terms to product descriptions for items that appear in AI searches. AI attributes recommends filling in missing product attributes to improve visibility in those same results.
The change gives retailers a way to see which of their products are surfacing in AI answers and what to fix when they are not. For brands trying to be cited by assistants, product feed data is now part of the measurement picture alongside traditional search reporting.
