69% of Marketers Are Publishing More AI Content Than Last Year (New Research Report)
Ahrefs has published its second annual survey of marketers on how AI is changing content production. Of 301 respondents, 280 (93%) said they use AI to create or help create content, up from 87% a year earlier. Among the small group who avoid it, accuracy was the main concern.
69% of all respondents said the share of AI content they publish has grown over the past year, rising to 74% among those who use AI. That does not mean more unedited output: 66% trust AI-generated content only after a human has reviewed it, and just 2.7% trust it with no review at all. Twice as many marketers as last year now use AI to check AI-assisted work, at 28.6%.
Claude was the most-used model for content creation at 83.2%, ahead of ChatGPT on 75.7% and Gemini on 57.9%. Use of AI for specialised tasks grew fastest, with data analysis up from 28% to 60% and keyword clustering from 23% to 45%. 85% of AI users said they produce content faster since adopting it.
Quality perceptions remain mixed. 56% of AI users said human-written content is better than their AI output, though 43% of founders and business owners said the opposite. Only 22% of respondents disclose their use of AI, up from last year, and 41% said AI has not saved them money on writers.
