ChatGPT ads gain a Learn more arrow link, with some units served via Amazon DSP
OpenAI is testing a new format for some ChatGPT ad units, adding a dotted, underlined 'Learn more' link with an upward arrow inside the text-based ad. The link does not appear on every ad, and the design was spotted by Bordie Clark, who shared screenshots on X and SERP Alert.
Separately, some ChatGPT ads appear to be served through Amazon DSP. Juozas Kaziukėnas noted on LinkedIn that the click target URL routes through Amazon's click-tracking server, which is how he identified the arrangement.
Kaziukėnas said there is little public detail on how the integration works and that he has not seen other advertisers use it. His read is that Amazon will not run its own ad formats inside ChatGPT: advertisers buy through the DSP, which handles targeting, while creative control stays the same as regular ChatGPT ads.
For brands watching how they surface in AI assistants, the change adds a clickable path out of the ad unit and a second buying route into ChatGPT inventory. Neither detail has been confirmed by OpenAI or Amazon.
