OpenAI Rolls Out ChatGPT Ads Manager Plugin, Audience Updates, Product Feeds
OpenAI has released a plugin that lets advertisers create, manage and analyse ChatGPT Ads campaigns from inside ChatGPT or Codex. The plugin turns a website or brief into ready-to-launch ads using plain language, generates variants, updates campaigns, troubleshoots delivery and reviews performance. It previews recommended changes and asks for confirmation before applying them.
Custom audiences can now be edited without rebuilding them. Advertisers can add, remove or replace members, mix identifier types in one request, use audiences below 25,000 matched users for exclusions, build audiences beyond 5 million members, see more granular size ranges and use Google Advertising ID as an identifier.
Conversion matching has been extended across the Measurement Pixel and Conversions API. The pixel now accepts hashed phone, first name, last name, region and postal code, while the API supports plural list fields for hashed email, phone, external ID, first and last name, country, city, region and postal code, plus Android GAID for mobile.
Reporting for the multi-product carousel ad unit now includes carousel card impressions and clicks in Ads Manager, with product-level fields in the public Insights API. A carousel card impression is counted when an individual product card becomes viewable, and these are separate from billable ad impressions. Complete data is available from August 20, 2026 on a rolling 30-day basis.
Campaigns with total budgets now have pacing to spread spend more evenly, though actual spend may still vary day to day. OpenAI is also preparing a conversion optimisation model that includes view-through conversions, optimising on both clicks and views with impression-based billing. ChatGPT Ads are now live in select countries across Europe, India, the Middle East and North Africa.
